Plans For 2012
Paracas is one of the most innovative and progressive municipalities in all of Peru, thanks to the visionary Mayor, Sr. Miguel Castillo, his General Director Sr. Alexander Chui, and members of their staff. As Paracas grows from a sleepy fishing village to a full fledged international holiday and investment destination, the following goals are being accomplished:
A major new water system, from the nearby Pisco region is being constructed to accommodate the growth of Paracas. The Mayor, Sr. Miguel Castillo personally oversees this multi-million dollar project on a daily basis. Completion will be in 2012.
The natural beauty of the beaches of the village of Chaco, as well as those of the National reserve are being protected thanks to an initiative by the Municipality and residents of the area. Sra. Irene Mendoza and Sr. Brien Foerster will oversee a campaign in 2012 whereby school children from Chaco will help to clean and maintain the beaches.
Cultural Education: Thanks to the Paracas Foundation, a non profit entity founded by Sra. Irene Mendoza and Sr. Brien Foerster, with the full support of Mayor Miguel Castillo and the Municipality, school children from Chaco and the surrounding area will have access to the displays and resources of the Paracas History Museum for free, in perpetuity.
In order to prepare the village of Chaco, and Paracas as a whole for increased international tourism, the Mayor has hired Sra. Irene Mendoza in 2012 to teach English to staff in restaurants, hotels and shops in order to better serve the visiting public. Expanding foreign interest is being met with better tourism service.
