Other Natural Wonders!
The majority of visitors only see the Islas Ballestas and have a cursory look at the National Reserve. The Paracas History Museum offers day tours in the southern areas of the Reserve, which will show you even more pristine aspects of the wildlife and ancient human history of this special part of the Peruvian Coast.
TOtuma is the site where, 5000 years ago, a fisher people lived. It is located where a small inland sea is also home to hundreds of pink flamingo and other sea birds. Not to miss!
Mendieta, slightly farther south from Otuma, was once home to fishermen, as much as 5000 years ago as well. They lived in subterranean stone houses which can still be partially viewed to this day.
Breath taking views of the rugged coastline, as well as beach combing for shells and artifacts are offered here.
